If you’re a nonprofit leader, community organizer, or someone looking for grant funding on Cape Cod or the Islands, the Wilkens Library at Cape Cod Community College has a powerful tool to help you: the Foundation Directory Online(FDO). You can use this resource for free right here in the library.

What You Can Do Here

The Foundation Directory Online is one of the most complete and up-to-date databases for foundation grants in the country. You can research:

  • Foundations and funders
  • Grand purposes and criteria
  • Trustees, officers, and donor information
  • Past grant awards and trends

This database also no includes grants for individuals, so you can search for both organizational and individual funding opportunities all in one place.

How It Works

  • Access: You must use Foundation Directory Online on-site at the 4Cs Library. Remote access from home isn’t available.
  • Search Tools: Options include searching by foundation name, location, filed of interest, type of support, and more
  • Help Available: Candid (the organization that runs the database) offers tutorials, FAQs, and search tips to help you get started.

Visit the Grant Center

The Foundation Directory is available during regular Library hours. You don’t need an appointment to use it, but if it’s your first time or you want extra help, setting up an appointment with a librarian is a good idea.

To schedule help or ask questions: Contact Maryann Stacey at 774.330.4444 or by email.

Workshops and Training

The library also offers training sessions and workshops on how to use the Foundation Directory and other grant resources. If you want a session for your team or organization, you can request on through the library.
